Thoughts and Musings from your local REALTOR, Animal Care Specialist, Xennial living in the Midwest.

January is coming to close and there is so much for me to catch you up on. I haven't posted since March of last year with the last Neighborhood Niche post so I'll give you the highlights.
REAL ESTATE UPDATES:

In May of last year I decided to level up my REALTOR game and joined Gambino Realtors. They've been very supportive of not only my career but my other involvments within the community and I am very happy to continue to work them. Go Gambino!
I am now the chair for North West Illinois Alliance of Realtors YPN commitee and I'm on the Education and Tri-County committees as well. I love all the work that the assoication does within the communities I work in, the educational opportunites they provide and the progressive changes they continue to updated to keep up with the ever changing life that is real estate.
Even with the lag of business from switching brokerages, I still had my best year in real estate! I met some awesome clients, sold my first farm land and had a lot of fun throughout. In 2024 I sold 36.5 (half point for rentals) properties, had 1.5 million in sales volume and ranked 48/92 at Gambino. I'm excited for what 2025 will bring.
Animal Care Updates:

With the continued support of long time clients and the influx of new fur babies in need, my pet care business has been growing despite scaling back my services. I'm still on the board of Northern Illnois Raptor Rehab & Education and I've been assisting Lisa's Little Resuce with their various projects.
I've had to back down from doing long term overnight stays for pet sitting, but I'm still doing daily visits and providing an animal first aid class for those who are interseted.
Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab & Education has been pretty busy this last year. They've joined with Lisa's Little Rescue and some other local wildlife rehabs to form The Rockford Regional Wildlife Coalition. I'm proud to have been able to assist them with putting it all together and working to improve the area's wildlife rehab standards.
Lisa's Little Rescue is putting on it's first annual charitable animal rescue expo. My co-worker Samantha Hart and I will have a booth there. Stop by our booth to learn simple tips & tricks for keping your pets safe and happy during a move or sale or your home. Grab some treats for your furry, feathered or scaled friends and explore resources like animal first aid guides.

Marge Updates:
This last year has seen a lot of change for me not only professionally but personally as well. Navigating caring for and ultimately losing a close family member, becoming the only one responsible for home expenses, and ultimately having to scale back my pet sitting business and community involvement has been a challenge. There have been many good parts of this past year as well. The key for me has been to enjoy the good as much as I dwell on the bad, stick to my boundries, and upbove all things, understanding that response instead of reaction will always guide me in the right direction. Having the support of my friends and family has been paramount to my success and I plan to continue growing both professionally and personally.
